The Link

The signature sound of THE LINK is a long unbroken set of organic live dance music. The band lock in for a dynamic journey through grooves influenced by tribal didgeridoo rhythms, celestial Celtic Harp, psychedelic Folk Rock, eastern Trance drones and Afro Brazilian drumming circles.

Rocking local crowds in Byron Bay and Bellingen, The Link have performed at festivals such as Wide Open Spaces (Alice springs), Kuranda Roots , Island Vibes, Dance Camp and Arise Dance Party.

THE LINK are one of the coolest bands on the Byron grassroots scene, a well kept secret known to those who move in more tuned-in circles. Like Oka, they have the ability to activate a dance floor, inviting everyone to get lost in free flowing dance moves. The rhythm is generated by trance like drummer Erik, and propelled with Walter’s conga interplay. Armando provides the slinky bass lines. Jesse alternates between guitar and tribal didge, while Robby provides the band with its truely original element ..a harp linked to a delay unit, sending showers of cascading sound raining over the dancers. Robby and Armando also play sax and flute respectively, the former providing a strident lead voice, the latter setting the scene for ambient beginnings and endings as THE LINK work their magic.
